Crouch

In Crouch, the foundational somatic gesture of crouching—laden with multiple connotations of submission, defense, and resistance—evolves into an on-site reflection on digital existence and self-identity. Utilizing Adobe Animate to explore the boundary between hand-drawn linework and digital replication, the work constructs an abstract body interwoven by lines, dynamically adjusting animation speed to physiological rhythms of breathing and heartbeats, aligning repetitive physical movement with internal biological pulses.

Through frame-by-frame deconstruction and digital duplication, the single crouching figure multiplies into a dense crowd across overlapping layers, abruptly transforming into a flat vector symbol under extreme close-up before resetting back to the solitary body. This immersive animating labor represents not only an exploration of technological boundaries, but also an invitation—in an era infinitely magnified and abstracted by technology—to leave the presence, dissolution, and positioning of the physical body open as an ongoing inquiry within an endless loop.
