In Sync

 In Sync is a single-channel video artwork that employs the human body as a "readymade" to conduct a microscopic kinetic measurement alongside young saplings. The work stems from the artist's attempt to gauge physical distance and spatial relation to his environment: the subtle, fleeting swaying of a sapling in the wind conveys a physical energy that is both fragile and light. Treating his own arm as a responsive instrument, Le Xi synchronizes his body’s movement with the sapling's rhythmic frequency.

Within a split-screen juxtaposition, the video establishes a deconstructive contrast between the arm's somatic micro-gestures and the plant's atmospheric reactions. Through this restrained and continuous mimicry, overlooked botanical rhythms are magnified into a shared physical tension between human and environment. Here, bodily imitation yields no seamless synthesis; rather, the process of trying to stay "in sync" reveals the inevitable gap or "absence" that persists between human physiology and the natural world.

In Sync reduces its visual language to somatic motion, plant kinetics, and duration. By capturing the arm’s subtle alignment with the sapling, the video preserves this fleeting act of perception as a quiet visual record of the threshold between the human body and natural order.
