In Cleaning Windows, a meditative cleaning ritual performed within the artist’s Chongqing studio evolves into an inquiry into the boundaries between everyday labor, artistic perception, and the artist's own identity. The rhythmic sweep of a double-sided magnetic squeegee transforms the physical act of wiping into a painterly gesture across the frame, echoing the dynamic visual language of de Kooning’s Action Painting. This shift collapses the rigid distinctions between cleaner, performer, and painter, positioning the glass as a threshold that holds intimacy and spatial isolation in quiet tension.

Through a bodily reorganization of landscape and perception, the work destabilizes the traditional divide between "high art" and domestic routine. Foregoing the romanticization of mundane tasks, the piece interrogates authorship and the myth of the artist as an isolated creator—redefining the artist as a sensitive mediator who captures overlooked fragments of daily experience. Located between clarity and obscurity, the work uses unstable physical experience to reveal the tangible relationship between the body and its immediate physical surroundings.
