Light and shadow form the foundation of my practice, embodying not just their own duality but the underlying tensions inherent in human perception and experience. Through reflective materials, I seek to create spaces where such opposites coexist, however precariously. By juxtaposing extremes, I aim to evoke an aesthetic uncertainty - light and shadow becoming gateways to explore broader dichotomies.

Light has always captivated me - the way it dances on reflective surfaces, how it shifts with the movement of water. These luminous phenomena are like a kaleidoscope, endlessly fascinating in their symbolic potential. By incorporating these illuminated spaces, I aim to evoke a sense of the surreal and encourage contemplation. I love spending quiet moments by sunlit lakes, watching fish beneath the surface and experiencing pure, sublime emotions. This exploration of the "infinite" drives my artistic practice.

Le Xi finds fascination in the most ordinary, everyday moments, exemplified by his "Wiping Glass" piece where he becomes immersed in the ritual of cleaning windows. Rejecting traditional notions of art, Le Xi's goal is to uncover the deeper meaning and poetry inherent in commonplace behaviors, repositioning the artist as a sensitive mediator who transforms overlooked experiences into new perspectives for the viewer. He situates the human body within its material context, moving away from the idea of the lofty, individual creator toward a more holistic, interconnected view

Moving to New York in 2000, Le Xi's art practice shifted from paintings to multimedia explorations. Capturing overlapping spaces and contradictions through photography and video, the artist "made the in-between, rather than depict it." Performances like "White House" blurred boundaries of substance and shadow, merging body, time, and space. The diversity of New York inspired Le Xi to continuously explore life's complexities through dynamic interplay of differences.

I believe that the spaces that truly exist should expand the realm of infinite possibilities by reconfiguring the structures and boundaries of reality. This perspective, liberated from pre-existing frameworks, allows me to reshape reality through artistic practice.

My work "Blue Bladelike Grass" explores the rhythmic movements of plants and the organic qualities between the natural and artificial worlds. By juxtaposing an artificial object with a natural one, I aim to prompt the viewer to reconsider traditional boundaries and classifications. The animated grass challenges the divisions between the artificial and the natural.
