Blink

Three selected frames from the single-channel video artwork Blink by Le Xi, showing the repeated act of blinking as an exploration of bodily perception and self-awareness.

Selected Frames from Blink

Through an ongoing exploration of simple actions and perceptual experience, Blink interrogates the shifting relations between observer and observed, body and image, interior and exterior. Centered on the biological rhythm of blinking, the momentary interruption of vision ceases to be a mere physical reflex, establishing a perceptual structure where sight and absence continuously alternate.

By extending and repeating this familiar gesture, the work creates a subtle distance between the body, the image, and the gaze. Turning the outward view back upon itself, the act of looking becomes the primary subject of observation.
